When we are invited to contribute to the Council’s consultations, we restricted our feed-back to the impact it would have on Ham Lands and not expressed a view on wider issues.

Please see link bellow for the feed-back that are submitted on behalf of Friends of Ham Lands (FoHL), we are part of the Ham United Group which is a Community Interest Company with the objective to improve and enhance the environment and the quality of life for the community in Ham and Petersham.

Ham Lands is designated as Metropolitan Open Land, a Local Nature Reserve and a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation (site ref MO 83). It is managed under an English Nature Higher Level Stewardship scheme agreement ‘to improve and maintain the quality of the semi-improved meadow grassland, scrub, pond and wetland habitats’.  Ham Lands is also a key component of the Thames dark corridor which is an important route for foraging and ‘commuting’ bats.
