A letter from Thérèse
I would like to take a moment to reflect on the Green Grafters’ journey from the early days of 2020 until now. We started as a small group with the purpose of improving our green areas on Ham Riverside Lands Ltd., which is a part of the Wates Estate, and despite the pandemic and social distancing, we survived and grew bigger and stronger as a team. Over the following years, we gained plenty of experience in maintaining our landscape. We forged long lasting friendships among team members. This year we started spreading our wings further than HRLL helping schools such as Grey Court School and Meadlands Primary School with their green spaces. We have also started liaising with Richmond Council on helping to improve council managed lands such as the Ham Street car park and the overgrown green verges on Riverside Drive.
I am very proud of what we have managed to achieve in the course of the years and hope that we will be able to continue our green journey for many years to come. A big thank you to the amazing team that is the Green Grafters!
